The Institute of Smart Systems and Artificial Intelligence (ISSAI) has taken a significant leap forward in the field of AI with the launch of Oylan.
Oylan is a powerful model that can process both images and text, and it operates seamlessly in Kazakh, English, and Russian languages. This multilingual capability makes it highly versatile and positions it to have a major impact within Kazakhstan.
To train Oylan, ISSAI researchers developed the largest dataset ever created in Kazakhstan. This massive dataset includes over 10 million images and 50 million question-answer pairs, all meticulously tailored to the specific linguistic, cultural, and economic needs of the country. Oylan can be applied to various domains, including education, healthcare, industry and finance.
Despite limited computational resources, the ISSAI team developed innovative techniques to train Oylan efficiently. The public can now explore Oylan’s capabilities through its pilot launch on the ISSAI Playground at oylan.nu.edu.kz, which also features voice interaction for a more intuitive experience. Additionally, developers can leverage Oylan’s functionalities by accessing its API for integration into their solutions.
ISSAI welcomes collaboration from businesses, investors, and developers. This collaboration will be instrumental in further refining Oylan and unlocking its full potential to benefit various sectors across Kazakhstan.
