Kazakh Speech Corpus presented at the international conference EACL 2021

ISSAI Postdoctoral Scholar Yerbolat Khassanov has participated in the 16th conference of the European Chapter of the Association for Computational Linguistics (EACL) held from 19 to 23 of April, 2021. The Conference was initially planned to be held in Kyiv, but due to the current COVID situation the conference was held entirely online. EACL is the flagship European conference in the field of computational linguistics. The Conference welcomes European and international researchers covering a broad spectrum of research areas that are concerned with computational approaches to natural language. The program of the conference included poster sessions, tutorials, workshops, and demonstrations in addition to the main conference.

During the poster session Dr. Yerbolat Khassanov has presented ISSAI’s recent project and paper – “A Crowdsourced Open-Source Kazakh Speech Corpus and Initial Speech Recognition Baseline” by Yerbolat Khassanov, Saida Mussakhojayeva, Almas Mirzakhmetov, Alen Adiyev, Mukhamet Nurpeiissov and Huseyin Atakan Varol.
