The 12th Eurasian Academic Libraries Conference (EALC) with the theme Education 5.0: Challenges and Prospects for Academic Libraries was held at Nazarbayev University (Astana, Kazakhstan) on 19-20 October 2023.
The EALC is an annual library conference discussing current issues and trends in library and information services. The conference was organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Association of Libraries of Higher Educational Institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Nazarbayev University Library. Our Senior data scientist, Askat Kuzdeuov, was invited to the conference as a keynote speaker on artificial intelligence. He gave a presentation on the benefits and challenges of using large language models (LLMs) in academic library services. The presentation received widespread interest from participants, opening the door for potential collaborations.
