ISSAI provided guest lecture to KazNU al-Farabi

On December 6, 2023, ISSAI Data Scientist Alina Polonskaya gave a guest lecture (online) on “Introduction to Machine Learning” for 2nd-year undergraduate students in Data Science at the Kazakh National University al-Farabi (KazNU). The lecture was carried out within the framework of cooperation and partnership between ISSAI and Big Data and AI Department of KazNU.

During the lecture, Alina explained the core concepts of Machine learning (ML) and presented its transformative potential across various industries. For the interactive session, Alina delved into foundational machine learning topics such as supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning paradigms. She also examined the intricacies of neural networks, decision trees, and support vector machines, providing students with an understanding of how these techniques are leveraged to interpret complex datasets.

One of the key focuses of the lecture was the practical application of ML. The group explored case studies across projects created at ISSAI to illustrate how ML algorithms are utilized in these projects.

Once again we are honored to have had the opportunity to conduct a guest lecture on the ever-evolving field of ML at one of the esteemed universities of Kazakhstan. We sincerely thank Dr. Madina Mansurova, the head of the Big Data and AI Department of KazNU, and Dinara Zhaissanova, senior lecturer in the Big Data and AI Department of KazNU, for providing such an opportunity. This event provided a platform for exchanging ideas and the sharing of cutting-edge research.
