Kazakh-British Technical University delegation visited ISSAI

Delegation of Kazakh-British Technical University (KBTU) led by the rector Mr.Gabdullin, managing director for Continuing Education Mr.Ibrayev, and head of project groups, Prof. Akzhalova visited the Institute of Smart Systems and Artificial Intelligence (ISSAI) on 5 June 2024. 

This visit started with a presentation by ISSAI deputy director of operations Yerbol Absalyamov. He demonstrated the Institute’s research advancements in AI for the Kazakh language, computer vision, face recognition, and AR developments. The guests were informed about the Institute’s capabilities and visited the robotics laboratory. ISSAI postdoctoral researcher Azamat Yeshmukhametov demonstrated the latest innovations in using AI for robotics and highlighted their adaptability in various fields.

During this visit guests from KBTU had a meeting with the founding director of ISSAI Prof. Atakan Varol, and with the head of the “Circular Economy and Artificial Intelligence” project, Prof. Ferhat Karaca. Both sides agreed to continue the joint activities on scientific internships, projects, the creation of project groups etc. To note, ISSAI and KBTU are conducting research on the project “Circular Economy and Artificial Intelligence” from 2023 to 2025. At the end of the meeting both sides agreed to organize a workshop on AI on the basis of NU.
