George Washington University student completed his internship on language vision models at ISSAI

On August 16, 2024, Beibarys Nyussupov, a senior student studying Data Science at George Washington University, completed his internship at the Institute of Smart Systems and Artificial Intelligence (ISSAI). During this internship, Beibarys evaluated the open-source Large Language Vision Models.

“This internship and tasks were really interesting, but also very challenging as it was my first time when I dealt with generative AI models, and when I had to program on a Linux system”, – commented Beibarys.

Beibarys noted that the internship affects his personal goals. Because of the ISSAI he is going to continue research about open source generative AI and will make his data capstone project on this topic. He expressed interest in returning to ISSAI and contributing to the development of AI in Kazakhstan.

“I’m planning to come back to ISSAI, if I will have any opportunity or chance, because ISSAI is a great place where I could help and contribute to AI development in Kazakhstan”, – concluded Beibarys.

ISSAI is committed to support Kazakhstani students studying at local and international universities to increase the AI know-how in Kazakhstan.
