ISSAI Senior data scientist participated in the Summit for teachers in Kazakhstan

On August 21, 2024, ISSAI Senior data scientist Dr. Zhanat Makhataeva participated in the National Summit for Teachers in Kazakhstan, held at Nazarbayev University. This year’s summit focused on the digitalization of the educational process and the integration of artificial intelligence into education.

Dr. Zhanat Makhataeva participated in one of the summit’s sessions with the topic “Avatars, Artificial Intelligence, and Augmented Reality for Modernization of Education”. She presented international experiences of implementing augmented reality, artificial intelligence, and virtual avatars in human-computer interaction, as well as advancements in augmented reality glasses. She also emphasized ISSAI’s projects and developments in AI and computer vision and the Institute’s role in the development of AI for Kazakh. During the presentation, Zhanat explained the concept of human-machine symbiosis, describing the history of augmented and virtual reality technologies. She provided real examples of the use of virtual avatars in human-technology interaction in education.

Dr. Zhanat Makhataeva also highlighted the development of AI-generated virtual assistants for teachers, aimed at implementing more personalized education in schools. Her session was full of questions and comments from the audience. The guests were highly engaged and interested in Zhanat’s presentation.
