On September 3, 2024, the delegation from the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology of Indonesia, led by his Excellency Mr. Hary Budiarto, Head of the Human Resource Development Agency of Communication and Information, visited the Institute of Smart Systems and Artificial Intelligence (ISSAI). The delegation included Mr. Nusirwan, Head of the Center for Research and Development of Resources, Equipment and Organization of Post and Information Technology, Mr. Hamdani Pratama, Head of Training and Development Center, Mr. Riza Azmi, Policy Analyst Associate Expert, Mr. Gustaf Daud Sirait, Counsellor for Economy, Political, Digital Affairs and Head of the Chancellery, Mr. Joenys Duana Sirait, Second Secretary for Social Cultural Affairs, and Mrs. Gulnur Siesenkulova, staff of the Social Cultural Affairs Department. The purpose of this visit was to explore potential collaborations in IT and AI areas with ISSAI.
During the visit, ISSAI General Director Prof. Atakan Varol, Executive Director Yerbol Absalyamov, and Deputy Director of Product and External Affairs – Senior Data Scientist Madina Abdrakhmanova presented the Institute’s recent developments, highlighting projects for Kazakh language, computer vision, and face AI. They also shared that the ISSAI team works on a foundational Kazakh Large Language Model (Kaz-LLM), which plays a significant role in AI development in Kazakhstan.
