Beginning in 2022, ISSAI started an initiative to engage Kazakhstani universities to utilize NVIDIA DGX resources for AI research, to foster collaboration. ISSAI equipped regional universities with NVIDIA DGX supercomputers for remote access, enabling them to advance their AI models efficiently. Between 2022 and 2024, Kazakhstan’s universities, including Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and Suleyman Demirel University, adopted the DGX-1, DGX A100, and DGX-2 systems. Faculty members from various universities also became involved in ISSAI research projects.

During recent visits to Shakarim University and Kozybayev University, Yerbol Absalyamov introduced researchers, students, faculty members, and IT specialists with an overview of ISSAI’s mission and AI resources. He detailed the technical capabilities of NVIDIA DGX systems and explored potential collaborations, including an invitation to participate in the Summer Research Program 2025 (SRP 2025). The audience expressed high interest in the SRP 2025, AI for flood prediction, natural language processing projects, and joint workshops.

Furthermore, Kozybayev University’s leadership, including Rector Dr. Issakayev Yerbol Maratovich, demonstrated a strong interest in collaborating with ISSAI, especially in AI applications for IT, ecology, and water management.

Overall, the discussions at both universities were productive, highlighting opportunities for research collaboration and ways to strengthen future cooperation.
