In a significant development for Kazakhstan’s IT and cloud computing sector, representatives from Clever Cloud, a French company in IT automation and cloud computing, visited the Institute of Smart Systems and Artificial Intelligence (ISSAI) to discuss potential collaboration opportunities. Clever Cloud, a 15-year-old company with a strong presence across Europe, has expressed keen interest in expanding its business into the Kazakh market.
The visiting delegation included Clever Cloud CEO Quentin Adam and VP for International Growth Erwan Rougeux. From the Kazakh side, the meeting was attended by QazCloud Sales Director Serikbol Urazalin and QazCloud Project Management Director Ainur Tulepbayeva. ISSAI was represented by Founding Director Prof. Atakan Varol, Executive Director Yerbol Absalyamov, Lead Data Scientist Askat Kusdeuov, IT Product Manager Amina Baikenova, and Government Relations Manager Alaidar Amirseiit. Also present were Kanat Abdrashitov, Advisor to the President of Nazarbayev University, and representatives of the NU Government Relations office.
The aim of the meeting was to explore opportunities for cooperation between Nazarbayev University (NU) and Clever Cloud, including the potential establishment of an R&D laboratory at NU and the development of joint projects involving NU students.
Executive Director Yerbol Absalyamov delivered a presentation on ISSAI, highlighting its key projects, including the Soyle App, the ISSAI KAZ-LLM large language models, and the Oylan Language Vision Model. The Clever Cloud representatives were highly impressed by ISSAI’s innovative initiatives and research-driven approach.
Clever Cloud aims to expand its business management operations within the region, and a collaboration with ISSAI could provide valuable synergies in research and development, IT automation, and cloud solutions.
The meeting marks an important step towards potential cooperation, fostering international partnerships and innovation-driven growth in Kazakhstan’s tech ecosystem. Both sides expressed optimism about future cooperation and agreed to continue discussions on specific joint initiatives.
