The Institute of Smart Systems and Artificial Intelligence (ISSAI) at Nazarbayev University recently showcased its cutting-edge AI projects to Raimbek Batalov, Chairman of the Presidium of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs “Atameken.” This visit marked an important step in fostering collaboration between academia and the business sector to drive technological advancements in Kazakhstan.
During the visit, ISSAI Government Relations Manager Alaidar Amirseiit presented several groundbreaking initiatives that contribute to the country’s digital infrastructure. Among them is ISSAI KAZ-LLM, a large language model tailored for the Kazakh language, as well as SoyleApp, a high-quality translation tool. Another key development is Oylan, an advanced vision language model. These AI-driven solutions are already making a significant impact and demonstrate ISSAI’s commitment to developing multimodal generative AI technologies.
The presentation emphasized the importance of integrating AI into various sectors to enhance efficiency and economic growth. The discussion also touched upon potential partnerships that could bridge scientific research with commercialization, ensuring that AI innovations transition into practical applications for businesses.
