On December 5, 2025, ISSAI took part in the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Artificial Intelligence and the Challenges of the Modern World,” dedicated to the memory of academician Zulkharnai Aldamzhar, founder of the Kostanay Social-Technical University. The conference became a key platform for discussing emerging trends in digital technologies and the growing influence of artificial intelligence on modern society.

The plenary session was held at IQostanay – the Smart Center. The event was co-organized by the International Cultural and Communication Center of Malaysia, highlighting the international scale and academic relevance of the conference.

ISSAI was represented by Executive Director Yerbol Absalyamov, who delivered a presentation on the Institute’s recent achievements in generative AI, including progress in KazLLM, Oylan, MangiSoz, Beynele, TilSync, and Mangitas. His talk also covered ISSAI’s Summer Research Program, opportunities for collaboration with regional universities and industry, the Institute’s expanding computational infrastructure, and future development plans. The audience showed great interest in ISSAI’s work, actively engaging with the presented practical demos available on the Institute’s digital platform.

The conference gathered researchers and specialists from Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Russian Federation. Discussions centered on topics outlined in the Address of the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, particularly the impact of AI on education, the economy, and the social sphere. Participants also addressed issues of digital ethics, cybersecurity, cultural context, and strengthening technological independence.

During the event, several memorandums of understanding were signed between KSTU, the Kostanay Social-Technical College, and leading Malaysian educational and cultural organizations, including the International Islamic University of Malaysia, Polytechnic University of Malaysia, and the International Cultural and Communication Center of Malaysia. These agreements aim to expand academic cooperation, foster joint projects, and promote intercultural scientific exchange.

For ISSAI, the conference became an excellent platform to strengthen collaboration with regional universities and to share the Institute’s approach to developing culturally aligned, high-impact AI solutions for Kazakhstan and beyond. The strong interest from participants, many of whom attended specifically to engage with ISSAI’s projects, highlighted the Institute’s growing influence in the field of AI research. Following the event, ISSAI received invitations to visit the International Islamic University of Malaysia, University of Poly-Tech Malaysia, and the International Cultural Communication Center of Malaysia later in December 2025.

ISSAI remains committed to expanding its outreach to regional and international institutions and to supporting Kazakhstan’s leadership in AI research, innovation, and digital transformation.
