ISSAI Expands Academic Collaboration at EdTech Conference in Kyzylorda

On April 25–26, 2026, Mamyrbek Parakhat, Data Scientist at Institute of Smart Systems and Artificial Intelligence (ISSAI) at Nazarbayev University, participated in the Conference “Digital Technologies and EdTech in Teacher Training” (“Цифрлық технологиялар және педагогтерді даярлаудағы EdTech”), held at Korkyt Ata University in Kyzylorda city.

The event was organized by Kazakh National Women’s Teacher Training University with the support provided by Janga Bilim Hub. The conference brought together academics and educators from more than 20 universities across Kazakhstan, creating a platform for dialogue on the future of digital education. Ahead of the main conference sessions, Mamyrbek Parakhat visited the Institute of Artificial Intelligence at Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University, where he met with students working on AI and data science projects. He reviewed their work, listened to presentations, and provided practical feedback aimed at strengthening their research and helping align it with real-world applications.

During the conference, Mamyrbek delivered a presentation outlining ISSAI’s key research directions, with a particular focus on language AI technologies and solutions developed for the Kazakh language. He demonstrated how ISSAI’s tools, including speech recognition (ASR), text-to-speech (TTS), and natural language processing systems, can be effectively integrated into the education sector, from speech-enabled learning applications to intelligent content generation systems for digital classrooms. He also discussed practical pathways for collaboration between universities and ISSAI, encouraging institutions to adopt and co-develop AI-driven educational solutions.

Following the sessions, several university representatives expressed interest in building partnerships with ISSAI. Key areas of potential collaboration included integration of Kazakh-language ASR and TTS technologies into e-learning platforms, joint development of educational datasets, and the creation of student exchange and internship programs with ISSAI.

The visit to Kyzylorda proved valuable in expanding ISSAI’s academic network and strengthening ties with institutions across the region. Establishing connections with representatives from over 20 universities opens new avenues for collaboration and reinforces ISSAI’s presence within Kazakhstan’s education ecosystem.
