ISSAI Presents AI Solutions for the Kazakh Language at August Readings

On August 17, Yerbol Absalyamov, Executive Director of the Institute of Smart Systems and Artificial Intelligence (ISSAI), delivered a presentation at the August Readings, organised by the Astana City Education Department and the Methodological Center of the Astana City Akimat and held at Nazarbayev University.

The event brought together representatives of the Astana City Education Department, business and industry associations, national and international experts in human capital development, deputy directors of colleges, teachers, and vocational training instructors.

During his presentation, Yerbol Absalyamov highlighted ISSAI’s research, projects, and contributions to the development of artificial intelligence technologies, with a particular focus on advancing AI solutions for the Kazakh language.

The August Readings also provided a platform for discussing the role of the Kazakh language in the rapidly developing AI era. Participants exchanged views on the integration of modern AI technologies into education and the importance of ensuring the continued development and use of the Kazakh language in digital environments.

Among the invited speakers were Dr. Yuanyuan (Mia) Li, Research Fellow at the Center for Analytical Testing and Supercomputing at Shanghai Normal University and Assistant Director of the Research Center for Cognitive Intelligence and Systems Science; Sabit Mukhamedzhanuly, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Astana Invest City Investment Development Center under the Astana City Akimat; and Bauyrzhan Abuov, CEO of InfoLesson.kz,  a resident of Astana Hub, among other experts and representatives of the education and business sectors.

ISSAI’s participation in the August Readings highlighted the importance of strengthening cooperation between the education sector, industry, and AI research institutions to prepare for the opportunities and challenges brought by the rapid development of artificial intelligence.
