On 12th April 2022 ISSAI Data Scientist Aknur Karabay was invited to a Business Women Empowerment Roundtable with Uzra Zeya, the U.S. Under Secretary for Civilian Security, Democracy, and Human Rights. The event was held in the “Ritz-Carlton” hotel, Nur-Sultan.

The aim of the event was to gather women in non-traditional or low represented sectors of the economy like science, energy, transportation, creative or green industries.

During the event, participants talked about their experience, area of expertise and the challenges they face along the way. Aknur talked about her career and the importance of having a gender balance in the tech industry. The event, also, provided an opportunity to discuss the ideas for providing support and opportunities for women.
