On 20th of November 2023, Mr. Zhamsatov Alikhan, Director of the Department of Logistics and Technical Support under the Presidential Affairs Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan (further – DLTS PAO), Mr. Kenzhebayev Serik, Deputy Director DLTS PAO, Mr. Uteuov Mukhiddin, Head of Digitalization division in the DLTS PAO and Mr. Amanzholov Nurlan Head IT architector in the DLTS PAO visited the Institute of Smart Systems and Artificial Intelligence (further – ISSAI) at Nazarbayev University.
The visit began with presentation of Dr. Azamat Yeshmukhambetov about tensegrity robots, then Absalyamov Yerbol provided an overview of the ISSAI’s history, mission, and key areas of research. Following this introduction, the delegation had the opportunity to witness live demonstrations of AI technologies in action: Tilmash, Soyle, KazNERD, KazTTS2, UMAY.
The visit concluded with a roundtable discussion where Dr. Atakan Varol shared his opinion on future trends in artificial intelligence and how they can be implemented into DLTS PAO work, the current situation in development of AI in Kazakhstan and developed countries, and about AI infrastructure.
Main aim of the visit was to meet ISSAI team, understand ISSAI’s research activities, and analyze potential directions of collaboration in future. And we can say that the visit was highly informative and laid the groundwork for a collaborative relationship between the state enterprise and our institute when ISSAI will be transformed into a full-fledged institute.
