Askar Aryngazin
Independent Member of the Supervisory Board, Chief Executive Officer at Sustainable Innovation and Technology Foundation
Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (1998), PhD in Physics and Mathematics (1988). Graduated with honors from the Department of Theoretical Physics, Moscow State University (1985).
From 2001 to 2020, he worked at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University (Astana, Kazakhstan), where he held the positions of Director of the Institute for Fundamental Research, Professor of the International Department of Nuclear Physics, New Materials and Technologies, Vice-Rector for Science and International Relations, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, and Vice-Rector for Information Technologies.
Between 1988 and 2001, he advanced from Laboratory Engineer in Optics to Professor and Head of the Department of Theoretical Physics at E.A. Buketov Karaganda State University.
He has served on the editorial boards of leading international scientific journals, including AAPPS Bulletin, Proceedings of Universities: Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Eurasian Physical Technical Journal, and Eurasian University Bulletin. From 2018 to 2020, he was Editor-in-Chief of the journal Eurasian University Bulletin: Physics & Astronomy.
In management, he served as General Manager of the Social Development Fund (2017–2019), headed Astana Business Campus Ltd. (2019–2021), and has led the Sustainable Innovation and Technology Foundation (SITF Group) since 2022 up to the present. Under his leadership, projects have been implemented in science, technology, innovation, startup ecosystem development, and venture financing with the support of Nazarbayev University.
He has also served as a Member of the Supreme Council for Science and Technology under the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan (2006–2007), and as a Member of the Steering Committee of the “Alatau Park” Fund for Innovative Technology Development (2015–2017).

He is the author of more than 100 scientific publications.
