Data Acquisition and Processing of Sub-Wavelength Signals Using STM32F4 Discovery Board in Acoustics and Haptics

Low-frequency signals, such as vibrations and acoustic waves, are commonly used in science, including tactile sensing. Certain optimization methods are necessary to collect and process these signals either in real-time or through post-processing. This work explores the capabilities of STM32F4 Discovery board in synchronized signal acquisition and processing methods. The proposed system is applied to an active tactile sensor for object stiffness classification based on vibration feedback. Experimental validation demonstrates the system’s ability to distinguish between six different materials by analyzing their vibrational response.
