On September 3, 2026, ISSAI’s Executive Director Yerbol Absalyamov participated in a ceremonial event dedicated to the Day of Languages of the People of Kazakhstan, held under the theme “State Language Policy: Science and Digital Society.” The event was organized by the Language Committee of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Mr. Yerbol Absalyamov delivered a presentation highlighting the Institute’s research and development efforts in the field of Kazakh language technologies and their role in the development of Kazakhstan’s artificial intelligence ecosystem.
During his presentation, Yerbol Absalyamov spoke about how ISSAI’s research directions translate into practical tools and AI models for the Kazakh language. He highlighted the Institute’s contribution to building a strong local AI ecosystem and emphasized the importance of developing sovereign AI models that reflect Kazakhstan’s linguistic and cultural context.
The presentation also focused on the role of research institutions in developing Kazakhstan’s intellectual workforce. By combining advanced AI research with the development of technologies for the Kazakh language, ISSAI contributes to strengthening local expertise and creating opportunities for researchers, engineers, and other specialists to participate in the country’s growing digital economy.
The event also featured presentations from Maqpal Zhumabay, Chair of the Board of the Sh. Shayakhmetov “Til-Qazyna” National Scientific and Practical Center and Nurzada Amangeldi, a researcher at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University and CEO of SignBridge.
