ISSAI hosted a visit from representatives of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan

The Institute of Smart Systems and Artificial Intelligence (ISSAI) hosted a visit from representatives of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan headed by Mr Altair Akhmetov, Head of the Department of Public Administration of the Presidential Administration.

During the visit, the guests were informed about the current projects of ISSAI in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) and data science. ISSAI founding director, Professor Huseyin Atakan Varol, demonstrated various projects including AI-based voice technologies for Kazakh language, smart systems for people with special needs, and face detection and computer vision technologies. In addition, Prof. Varol showcased Institute’s open-source datasets that are freely available to the public.  

The visitors praised the presentation and expressed their admiration for the work that the ISSAI has been doing. They expressed their support for the Institute’s efforts to advance the field of AI for Kazakh language and discussed potential collaboration areas.

Mr. Altair Akhmetov praised the researchers for their dedication and hard work, noting that their work was critical to the development of smart systems and AI in the country. He noted that the work being done by the researchers at the Institute was in line with the government’s agenda of promoting innovation and technological advancement.
