Azamat Yeshmukhametov, a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Smart Systems and Artificial Intelligence at Nazarbayev University participated in a recent episode of the «Sana» program on Abai TV. The program’s main focus was on science development in Kazakhstan.
The episode featured experts such as Zhaiyk Toktarov, head of scientific projects and programs at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Sholpan Tazabek, a postdoctoral researcher at Nazarbayev University, and Nurzhaugan Mukhanova, editor-translator of National Geographic magazine, discussing current issues in the scientific sphere, highlighting achievements, and potential areas for growth.
Particular attention was given to the theme of intellectual upbringing for the future generation through science. Toktarov noted the special position of scientists from Kazakhstan globally, offering essential ideas and developments to the world. Yeshmuhametov also emphasized that the quantity and quality of articles by scientists from Kazakhstan in scientific journals like Web of Science and Scopus have significantly increased compared to a decade ago. He pointed out that the weak point in Kazakhstani science is the lack of information support and promotion, resulting in low youth interest in science. Azamat is convinced that science in the country will reach a high level if people have comprehensive information about the significance of science and the opportunities it opens up, starting from school.
