Professor Yaacob Ibrahim, a distinguished speaker from the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT), participated in the Digital Almaty 2024 forum held in Almaty from February 1 to 3. In Singapore, Professor Ibrahim held several ministerial positions from 2002 to 2018, contributing significantly to Muslim Affairs, Community Development, Youth and Sports, the Environment and Water Resources, Communications and Information, and Cyber Security.
On February 1, Professor Atakan Varol, the Founding Director of the Institute of Smart Systems and Artificial Intelligence (ISSAI), had the privilege of meeting Professor Ibrahim. During their meeting, Professor Varol introduced the Institute’s research projects. Professor Ibrahim, drawing from his extensive experience in Singapore, shared his insights on the development of research, science, and innovation, particularly focusing on AI and data science.
Following their productive discussion, Professor Varol extended an invitation to Professor Ibrahim to visit the ISSAI laboratories in Astana.
