Vice Minister of Science and Higher Education of  the Republic of Kazakhstan Darkhan Ahmed-Zaki visited ISSAI

On 3 February 2024, Vice Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan  Darkhan Ahmed-Zaki visited the Institute of Smart Systems and Artificial Intelligence. 

During the visit, Senior Administrative Coordinator Gibrat Kurmanov introduced the Institute’s work and research achievements to the esteemed guests. Dr. Azamat Yeshmukhametov showcased his research on tensegrity robots, which are innovative robots that leverage the mechanics of tensegrity, making them highly adaptable for various applications such as exploration, monitoring, and pick-and-place.

Postdoctoral researcher Zhanat Makhataeva presented her work on a memory augmentation system with augmented reality to Darkhan Ahmed-Zaki. Her project focuses on external object representation and the advancement of AR-assisted technology to support people with memory impairments, such as Alzheimer’s disease.

Vice Minister Darkhan Ahmed-Zaki expressed his admiration for ISSAI’s high-quality research projects and significant contribution to the development of AI in Kazakhstan.
