On November 28, 2024, members of the Institute of Smart Systems and Artificial Intelligence (ISSAI), including Executive Director Yerbol Absalyamov, Data Scientist Rakhat Meiramov, and Computer Engineer Zhaxylyk Tursunbayev, participated in the Demo Day event, organized by the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation, and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Astana Hub.
The main guest of this event was Mr. Richard Stirling, co-founder and CEO of Oxford Insights, who assesses AI readiness for 193 governments worldwide.
The ISSAI team showed key projects to Mr. Zhaslan Madiyev, Minister of Digital Development, Innovations, and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan, and Mr. Richard Stirling. They demonstrated a demo version of Kazakhstan’s Large Language Model (Kaz-LLM), SoyleApp, and a digital human avatar called Aibike, based on Kaz-LLM. Mr. Richard Stirling was interested in the ISSAI’s experience in developing these projects. He marked a high level of the Institute’s current progress and activities.
Alongside ISSAI, other leading companies showed their AI solutions. Kazakhtelecom JSC showed AI solutions based on AR technology, NITEC JSC presented VR solutions and speech technologies leveraging Kaz-LLM, Techgarden company demonstrated a dog-robot synthesized with AR glasses for industrial inspection, etc.
The event highlighted the local AI ecosystem’s development in Kazakhstan, demonstrating the country’s potential to become a regional leader in the global AI race.
