On December 3, 2024, the Provost of the American University in Cairo, Prof. Ehab Abdel-Rahman visited the Institute of Smart Systems and Artificial Intelligence (ISSAI).
ISSAI Founding director, Prof. Atakan Varol warmly welcomed the distinguished guest, introducing him to colleagues, Executive Director Mr. Yerbol Absalyamov and Deputy Director of Product and External Affairs, Madina Abdrakhmanova.
Madina Abdrakhmanova presented an overview of ISSAI’s ongoing projects and activities. She talked about projects for the Kazakh language, computer vision, and face AI. She mentioned that the ISSAI team works on a foundational Kazakh Large Language Model (Kaz-LLM), which plays a significant role in AI development in Kazakhstan. Madina also demonstrated SoyleApp as the first ISSAI commercial AI product.
Prof. Ehab Abdel-Rahman shared his deep expertise on innovation and startup ecosystems with the ISSAI team. ISSAI representatives extended their gratitude to Prof. Rahman for his visit.
