On May 26th, the ISSAI team, led by Executivе director Yerbol Absalyamov, visited Alatau Hub — the leading IT innovation center in Almaty region, Konayev city. The visit marked another step in ISSAI’s mission to democratize access to artificial intelligence (AI) research across the country.
Audience was consisted of Almaty region’s Akimat team, healthcare department of Akimat, Alatau innovation Hub’s residents, college students and others.
The session aimed to introduce ISSAI’s mission and showcase its cutting-edge research initiatives. Yerbol Absalyamov outlined various collaboration opportunities, including joint research projects and researcher exchange programs. He also spotlighted the ISSAI Summer Research Program, encouraging students to apply for next year’s cohort. At the end of seminar Yerbol demonstrated all online models of ISSAI to show that they can be used in different directions of Akimat.
The audience responded with great enthusiasm—expressing strong interest in accessing ISSAI’s DGX computing systems and actively engaging with its research projects. Audience of Almaty region shared positive experiences with ISSAI’s open-source NLP models, datasets, and practical tools, emphasizing their value and impact on ongoing academic work.
This visit marked a pivotal moment in ISSAI’s efforts to build meaningful partnerships with regional universities. By strengthening the connection between high-level research and academic institutions across Kazakhstan, ISSAI is helping to lay the foundation for a thriving, innovation-driven AI ecosystem nationwide.
