ISSAI Launches TilSync: Real-Time Transcription and Translation for Multilingual Events

The Institute of Smart Systems and Artificial Intelligence (ISSAI) at Nazarbayev University has unveiled TilSync, a groundbreaking desktop application that transcribes and translates live speech into subtitles in real time. Supporting Kazakh, Russian, and English, TilSync allows subtitles to appear directly over any open application, making it an invaluable tool for public events, academic lectures, conferences, and other multilingual settings.

Key features of TilSync include:

  • Live Speech-to-Text
  • Automatic Translation
  • Subtitles Displayed Over Any Application
  • Supports Kazakh, Russian, and English
  • Designed for Multilingual Events and Accessibility

By providing instant transcription and translation, TilSync bridges language gaps in multilingual environments and enhances accessibility for hearing-impaired audiences.

“TilSync is breaking down language barriers at important events by delivering real-time translated subtitles. This innovative tool is particularly beneficial for online education and conferences. The project also serves as a testament to the skills of AI professionals in Kazakhstan in developing sophisticated applications” – said Huseyin Atakan Varol, Founding Director of ISSAI.

As Kazakhstan continues to embrace digital innovation and promote trilingualism, technologies like TilSync highlight the country’s commitment to inclusive communication and smart transformation. The launch of TilSync comes at a timely moment, as Kazakhstan celebrates the Day of Languages of the People of Kazakhstan on September 5 — a holiday that honors the richness of the nation’s languages and cultural diversity.

The application is now available for download at https://tilsync.nu.edu.kz/, making it accessible for anyone wishing to explore its features at public events, lectures, or conferences.
