Presidential Archive Explores Collaboration with ISSAI on Digitalization Initiatives

On October 6, 2025, the Institute of Smart Systems and Artificial Intelligence (ISSAI) at Nazarbayev University welcomed representatives from the Presidential Archive of the Republic of Kazakhstan, led by Director Aliya  Mustafina.

The delegation also included Kuralai Kabarova, Head of the Department of Digital Technologies and Innovations, as well as leading experts Sanzhar Sagynuly and Abylkaiyr Turgunuly Bolatbayev. 

From ISSAI, the meeting was attended by Dr. Atakan Varol, General Director; Yerbol Abslyamov, Executive Director; Amina Baikenova, Acting Deputy Director of Product and External Affairs; Alaidar Amirseiit, Government Relations Manager; and Aigerim Sarsenova, Senior External Affairs Manager.

During the meeting, Aigerim Sarsenova delivered a presentation highlighting ISSAI’s expertise in artificial intelligence and its flagship projects in document understanding, data analytics, and digital transformation. The representatives of the Presidential Archive expressed keen interest in collaborating with ISSAI on the digitalization and intelligent management of archival materials, recognizing the Institute’s potential to contribute to the modernization of Kazakhstan’s archival infrastructure.

The Presidential Archive plays a key role in preserving and studying the documentary heritage of Kazakhstan’s modern history, including records of the Presidential Administration and key state institutions. Its mission is to ensure the safekeeping, accessibility, and systematic digital preservation of the nation’s documentary assets.

Both sides agreed to continue discussions on potential joint initiatives aimed at advancing the digital transformation and accessibility of Kazakhstan’s national archival heritage through cutting-edge AI technologies.
