ISSAI Hosts ALFA Center Representatives to Discuss AI Cooperation

The Institute of Smart Systems and Artificial Intelligence (ISSAI) welcomed representatives of the newly established ALFA Center (Al-Farabi AI Center) to discuss potential avenues for collaboration and exchange expertise in the field of artificial intelligence.

Founded in December 2025, the ALFA Center has rapidly demonstrated strong research potential, with a growing portfolio of academic publications and active engagement in national funding opportunities.

The ALFA Center delegation included Baglan Imanbek, CEO; Zhanel Baigaraeva, Head of Science; Bibars Amangeldy, CTO; and Nurdaulet Tasmurzaev, CBO.

During the meeting, Senior External Affairs Manager Aigerim Sarsenova delivered a presentation on ISSAI’s mission, key areas of work, and portfolio of AI products. The presentation highlighted ISSAI’s efforts in developing sovereign AI solutions, advancing research, and contributing to the national AI ecosystem.

The meeting was also attended by Yerbol Absalyamov, Executive Director; Amina Baikenova, Acting Deputy Director of Product and External Affairs; and Batyr Arystanbekov, Data Scientist at ISSAI.

Both sides expressed strong interest in fostering collaboration and emphasized the importance of joint efforts in accelerating AI innovation in Kazakhstan. The ALFA Center representatives also expressed appreciation for ISSAI’s work.

The meeting underscored a shared commitment to advancing AI research and practical applications, laying the groundwork for future cooperation between ISSAI and the ALFA Center.
