On March 30, 2026, the Institute of Smart Systems and Artificial Intelligence (ISSAI) at Nazarbayev University welcomed a delegation from Agibot, a rapidly growing company in humanoid robotics.
The delegation included Xiong Jilin, Vice President of Agibot PTE. LTD, and Vladislav Safarov, Director of QAZBOT Technologies Ltd. From ISSAI, Darkhan Zholtayev, Senior Researcher, Alaidar Amirseiit, Government Relations Manager, and Aidar Shakerimov, Research Assistant, gave presentations on ISSAI’s research and developments. The visit was supported by the Advanced Robotics and Mechatronics Laboratory (ARMS), led by Dr. Azamat Yeshmukhametov, who acted as a liaison to ensure productive exchanges between ISSAI and Agibot.
During the visit, ISSAI and ARMS showcased ongoing research and technological developments in artificial intelligence and robotics. Presentations highlighted work on vision-language systems for industrial inspection, including approaches to weld quality assessment that combine computer vision with high-level reasoning models. The delegation also learned about robotics projects for pipeline inspection and maintenance, featuring autonomous and mixed reality–based systems designed to operate in complex industrial environments.
The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange information on current research directions and technological capabilities. Discussions focused on areas of mutual interest in robotics and AI, particularly the integration of AI systems with robotic platforms for real-world applications.
This visit reflects ISSAI’s continued engagement with international technology companies and its commitment to advancing applied research in artificial intelligence and robotics. Such exchanges enhance understanding of emerging technologies and support the development of expertise in these fields within Kazakhstan.
