On April 24, ISSAI Executive Director Yerbol Absalyamov participated as a speaker at the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Education in the Era of Digital Transformation and AI: Values, Ethics and Practice”, held in Oral and organized by the Western Kazakhstan Innovation and Technical University (WKITU) in collaboration with Batys Hub, the regional branch of Astana Hub.
The conference gathered representatives of leading academic and research institutions from Kazakhstan and abroad, including Ahmed Yassawi University (Turkestan), universities from Almaty and Astana, Tashkent University of Information Technologies (Uzbekistan), Moscow City Pedagogical University, Samara State University (Russia), among others. The event served as a platform for exchanging practical experience, research insights, and applied case studies in digital transformation, educational innovation, and AI-driven pedagogy.
During the plenary session, Yerbol Absalyamov delivered a keynote presentation on the integration of the Kazakh language into the digital ecosystem through artificial intelligence. He introduced ISSAI’s ongoing work in generative AI, highlighting key institutional achievements, including the Summer Research Program, computational infrastructure, and the Institute’s growing portfolio of AI solutions for education and language technologies. He also outlined ISSAI’s future research directions and collaboration opportunities with academic and industry partners.
In the afternoon, he participated in a roundtable discussion titled “Development of Education and Key Ethical Values in the Era of AI”, where he spoke about the role of smart universities, responsible AI adoption, data governance, and privacy considerations in higher education environments.
The conference participants demonstrated strong interest in ISSAI’s initiatives, particularly its focus on developing AI technologies grounded in the Kazakh language and cultural identity. ISSAI’s projects, including Aibike, MangiSoz, Oylan, TilSync, and Mangitas, were positively received and recognized as important contributions to the regional and national AI ecosystem.
ISSAI’s participation in the event further strengthened collaboration with the Western Kazakhstan academic community and contributed to raising awareness of AI-driven educational tools and research opportunities for the next generation of students and researchers.”
