On 30 June 2026, the Institute of Smart Systems and Artificial Intelligence (ISSAI) at Nazarbayev University hosted a meeting with Katherine Chong, Account Executive at EarthDaily Analytics, a Canadian company specializing in Earth observation data and geospatial intelligence solutions. The meeting was facilitated by Gaukhar Kydyrkhanova, Trade Commissioner at the Embassy of Canada.
The ISSAI team included Amina Baikenova, Acting Deputy Director of Product and External Affairs, Aigerim Sarsenova, Senior External Affairs Manager, Ulzhan Alibek, External Affairs Manager, S. Olarewaju Olagunju, PhD Student, and Vladimir Alberkht, Data Scientist.
During the meeting, Ulzhan Alibek presented ISSAI’s research directions, ongoing projects, and AI-driven initiatives. Katherine Chong introduced EarthDaily Analytics, providing an overview of the company’s Earth observation capabilities and their applications in areas such as agriculture, environmental monitoring, natural resource management, and evidence-based decision-making.
The discussion focused on opportunities for collaboration in applying satellite data and artificial intelligence to address real-world challenges, particularly in agriculture, environmental monitoring, and geospatial analytics. Participants exchanged ideas on potential joint research initiatives and future cooperation that could leverage the complementary expertise of both organizations.
The meeting concluded with both teams expressing interest in maintaining dialogue and identifying concrete opportunities for collaboration in advancing AI-enabled Earth observation solutions.
