Empowering Women in Tech: ISSAI at the Central Asian Women’s Forum

On March 6, 2025, ISSAI representatives, Senior External Affairs Manager Aigerim Sarsenova and General HR Manager Dana Makhanova, attended the Central Asian Women’s Forum “3D Success of the Modern Woman.” This significant event brought together influential women from the region—leaders in business, technology, and innovation—to discuss key challenges and opportunities for enhancing the quality of life for women in Central Asia.

Highlights of the Forum:

  • Expert Presentations: Top regional experts shared insights on how artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming the labor market and strategies for career advancement through social media and digital skills development.
  • Financial and Personal Branding Expertise: Sessions provided guidance on financial literacy, personal branding, and career development in the AI era.
  • Networking Opportunities: Participants engaged in interactive workshops and networking sessions to establish new professional connections.

The forum attracted over 500 online participants from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan, including women leaders, entrepreneurs, and representatives from the IT industry, marketing, finance, and medicine sectors. The primary goal was to support and develop women in Central Asia by creating a community of professionals, facilitating experience exchange, and establishing new business connections.

The event was supported by the National Commission for Women and Family-Demographic Policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the non-profit organization “TechnoWomen.” In 2024, these organizations implemented successful social projects such as “She Innovator,” “IT-Aiel 2.0,” “TechGirls,” “Robotechnogirls,” and “Cyber Safe for Women,” enabling 18,000 Kazakhstani girls and women to acquire in-demand digital skills and embark on careers in technological industries.

In the era of digital transformation, AI is not just a technology but a key to new opportunities. According to forecasts by the World Economic Forum, by 2025, AI and related technologies will create 97 million new jobs while eliminating 75 million, resulting in a net gain of 22 million jobs.

Aziza Shuzheeva, head of the non-profit organization “TechnoWomen,” noted, “Developing AI competencies for women means not only career growth but also equal participation in shaping the future. Women’s communities in digital technologies, such as TechnoWomen, are not just support networks but powerful catalysts for career growth and economic independence. By uniting, women not only master new skills but also create opportunities, changing the industry and inspiring the next generation.”

Bikesh Kurmangaliyeva, General Director of LLP “Center for the Development of the Digital Economy” and co-founder and board member of “TechnoWomen,” emphasized, “AI will not replace women in professions, but women who master AI will replace those who do not. In the new digital world, knowledge of AI is not just a skill but a ticket to the future.”

The forum underscored the importance of women’s active involvement in the digital economy and the development of AI competencies to ensure equal participation in shaping the future.
