We are happy to share that we are starting our Summer Research Program for university students!

The Summer Research Program at ISSAI is an immersive research experience designed to provide students from Kazakhstan and international universities with an understanding of and practical skills on Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Programming, and related fields.

Since 2021, ISSAI has been organizing this program for both high school and university students. Over the years, students from across cities and countries have worked side by side, exchanging invaluable knowledge and experience. Previous participants have represented leading institutions such as ENU, SDU, AITU, Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University, KBTU, New Uzbekistan University, Skolkovo, KAIST, Yale, Princeton, University of Pennsylvania, University Paris-Saclay, and University of Amsterdam.

This initiative provides a unique opportunity for students to deepen their expertise in cutting-edge technologies while working closely with ISSAI’s distinguished team of data scientists and researchers. Each student is paired with an ISSAI mentor — experienced professionals and top-tier graduates from Nazarbayev University and renowned international universities — to gain hands-on experience, apply theory in practice, and grow as future leaders in AI.

Now in its fifth year, the Summer Research Program has proven to be a transformative stepping stone for many. A number of past participants have received promotions in academia and industry, and some have even gone on to join ISSAI as full-time researchers — a testament to the program’s impact and success.

This year, we received over 270 applications from aspiring researchers. After a competitive selection process, 23 finalists were chosen to participate. These outstanding students represent top institutions such as KAIST, Yonsei University, New York University Abu Dhabi, MZUAI, New Uzbekistan University, Higher School of Economics, Al Akhawayn University, KBTU, SDU, Korkyt Ata University, Astana IT University, Nazarbayev University, and other leading universities in Kazakhstan and beyond.

The 2025 SRP for university students will take place from June 2 to August 1. During this time, students will contribute to ongoing ISSAI projects and attend a series of theoretical and practical master-classes led by their mentors, covering diverse topics in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science.
