On September 28, as part of Digital Bridge 2026, Qaz.AI held the roundtable “MedTech AI: Regulation, Market and Medical Data” at Astana Hub. The event brought together members of the Kurultai, representatives of business and government organisations, healthcare and technology experts, and members of the scientific community to discuss the development and practical adoption of AI in healthcare.
Amina Baikenova, Deputy Director of Product and External Affairs at the Institute of Smart Systems and Artificial Intelligence (ISSAI), Nazarbayev University, participated in the roundtable and contributed to the discussion on the development and responsible implementation of AI technologies in medicine.
The discussion focused on the registration and approval of AI technologies in healthcare, technical and clinical evaluation, relevant standards, and access to medical data for AI development and validation.
Among the participants were Erbol Ospanov, Vice Minister of Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Yekaterina Smyshlyaeva, Member of the Kurultai of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The other participants included Aydar Baelov, Head of the Department of Medical Device Expertise of the National Center for Expertise of Medicines and Medical Devices, Marat Mamaev, Managing Director for Government Relations at Galamat Group, Ramiz Kuliev, Head of the Industry Centre for Technological Competencies at the Salidat Kairbekova National Scientific Center for Health Development, and Doszhan Zhusupov, Founder and Director of Cerebra AI.
The event provided an important platform for dialogue between government, business, healthcare professionals, researchers and technology developers, helping identify practical approaches to the regulation, testing and implementation of AI-powered medical solutions.
