On 7th December 2021, a group of scientists headed by Zhanar Zhumabayeva from the Institute of Linguistics named after Akhmet Baitursynuly (Almaty, Kazakhstan) visited ISSAI laboratories.
ISSAI postdoctoral scholar Dr Yerbolat Khassanov and ISSAI PR manager Kuralay Baimenova gave a presentation on ISSAI’s mission, team members, computational resources, and educational YouTube channel . The presentation also provided a comprehensive overview of the Institute’s three projects related to the Kazakh language: the Kazakh Speech Corpus, the Kazakh Text-to-Speech project, and the Kazakh Named Entity Recognition Dataset. Dr Khassanov emphasised that the projects presented can readily be tested online and that all the datasets and models developed are open-source and publicly available for download from ISSAI’s website.
