Within the framework of the VII Congress of Teachers and Education Workers of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries, delegates visited ISSAI laboratories.
The Congress of Teachers and Education Workers is held every two years by the decision of the Conference of CIS Education Ministers. This year it is being held at Nazarbayev University.
During the visit, ISSAI Technical Project Coordinator Yerbol Absalyamov familiarized the guests with the main ISSAI projects. Afterwards, ISSAI postdoctoral researcher Azamat Yeshmukhametov demonstrated a tensegrity structure robot. The visitors praised ISSAI for sharing its datasets in an open-source format.
Minister of Enlightenment of Kazakhstan Askhat Aimagambetov, Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek, Deputy Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee Beketzhan Zhumakhanov, Senator Nariman Turegaliev, Chairman of the Board of JSC Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools Kulash Shamshidinova, President of Nazarbayev University Shigeo Katsu and others spoke at the opening of the congress.
In his welcoming speech, NU President welcomed the delegates of the VII Congress of CIS Teachers and Education Workers.
President Shigeo Katsu congratulated the authorities for their willingness to engage in various ambitious education reforms over the past 30 years. He said that NU is a prime example of willingness to experiment and reform.
