The Institute of Smart Systems and Artificial Intelligence (ISSAI) and the State scientific budgetary institution “Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan” signed a Memorandum of Understanding

The Institute of Smart Systems and Artificial Intelligence (ISSAI) and the State scientific budgetary institution “Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan” (ASRT) have taken a significant stride in strengthening scientific cooperation by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This strategic alliance aims to foster collaboration in the fields of science, new technologies, and innovation while promoting the practical implementation of scientific advancements.

One of the primary objectives of this MoU is to foster versatile ties and facilitate knowledge exchange between ISSAI and ASRT. By leveraging their collective expertise, both institutions seek to drive progress in various scientific domains, including artificial intelligence (AI), speech technologies, and natural language processing (NLP). A significant outcome of this partnership is the joint publication of research papers.

Moreover, as part of the memorandum, ASRT will provide data to ISSAI to further enhance ISSAI’s Multilingual Speech Recognition model for Turkic Languages. This data exchange will contribute to the continuous improvement of ISSAI’s technology and ultimately lead to more accurate and reliable speech recognition capabilities.

At the same time, leveraging its experience and knowledge in AI, ISSAI will share its know-how with ASRT in the development of Tatar language models.

Prof. Huseyin Atakan Varol, Founding Director of ISSAI, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “We are delighted to collaborate with the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan on this endeavour. By combining our expertise and resources, we can accelerate the development of AI models for Turkic languages like Kazakh and Tatar. The exchange of datasets will greatly enhance our Multilingual Speech Recognition model for Turkic Languages, benefiting both organizations and furthering the field of AI research.”

This partnership aligns with the shared vision of both institutions to drive progress in AI research and promote the practical implementation of scientific developments.
