On March 26 and 27, the Institute of Smart Systems and Artificial Intelligence (ISSAI) welcomed high school students and their parents from Fiztex Almaty and Bilim-Innovation Almaty, offering them a firsthand look into the world of artificial intelligence and cutting-edge research.
The visit on March 26 brought eager students from Fiztex Almaty, accompanied by their parents, to ISSAI, where they were introduced to the institute’s latest AI projects and innovations. ISSAI representatives provided insights into key AI-driven applications and demonstrated three significant projects: the photorealistic avatar Aibike, the Soyle App, and Oylan Language Vision Model. The students actively engaged with researchers, asking insightful questions about artificial intelligence and these pioneering innovations.
Following this, on March 27, a group of high school students from Bilim-Innovation Almaty visited ISSAI. In addition to learning about ISSAI’s AI initiatives, the students explored the Advanced Robotics and Mechatronics Systems (ARMS) Laboratory. Dr. Azamat Yeshmukhanbetov and his research assistants, Almat Dalabekov, a BIL Almaty graduate and currently a 4th-year student at the Nazarbayev University School of Engineering and Digital Sciences and Manat Nursultan, a master’s student at the Department of Robotics and Mechatronics, School of Engineering and Digital Sciences, Nazarbayev University, showcased their ongoing research. The head of ARMS demonstrated the latest advancements in AI-driven robotics, emphasizing their adaptability across various fields. A particularly fascinating project for the guests was an innovative hybrid robotic platform equipped with a manipulator for performing maintenance tasks inside pipes. Designed to operate in confined spaces, this robot enhances efficiency in maintaining even the most hard-to-reach areas.
Additionally, students were informed about the ISSAI Summer Research Program (SRP), held annually, which provides young talents with an opportunity to immerse themselves in AI research and development.
Both visits reinforced ISSAI’s commitment to fostering interest in AI among young talents and encouraging the next generation of innovators. By opening its doors to students, ISSAI continues to play a vital role in shaping the future of AI education and research in Kazakhstan. The institute looks forward to welcoming more young minds and inspiring future AI leaders through similar educational initiatives.
