March 17, 2026, The Institute of Smart Systems and Artificial Intelligence (ISSAI) participated in a meeting with a representative from Google for Education to discuss potential areas of collaboration in artificial intelligence, digital learning tools, and the integration of modern technologies into the academic process.
Google for Education was represented by Anna Artemyeva – Regional Lead, EMEA Higher Education Lead. ISSAI was represented by General Director Atakan Varol and Government Relations Manager Alaidar Amirseiit. They were joined by Nazarbayev University leadership, including Vice-President Assel Uvaliyeva, Associate Provost for Teaching and Student Success Lasha Markozashvili, and Chief Information Officer Askar Boranbayev.
A key focus of the discussion was the integration of modern AI solutions into the educational process. During the meeting, Anna Artemyeva presented the latest Google for Education tools aimed at scaling research activities, enhancing faculty productivity, and expanding students’ access to world-class technologies. Particular attention was given to the practical implementation of AI within the academic environment and ensuring robust data security.
Following the presentation on educational tools, Alaidar Amirseiit delivered a comprehensive overview of ISSAI’s activities. He highlighted the Institute’s core research areas, ongoing projects, and locally developed AI products, emphasizing ISSAI’s role as a leading AI research hub in the region. The Google representative was highly impressed by ISSAI’s innovative products and technological advancements, acknowledging the high caliber and potential of the Institute’s locally developed models.
Following the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for a strategic partnership. In particular, they explored opportunities to launch joint educational programs focused on mastering modern AI tools, as well as to implement collaborative research projects based at ISSAI.
