On June 4, 2026, the Institute of Smart Systems and Artificial Intelligence (ISSAI) and the Post and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT) held an online meeting to present their key projects and discuss potential areas of collaboration. The meeting followed PTIT’s recent visit to ISSAI and Nazarbayev University and served as a continuation of the dialogue between the two institutions.
ISSAI was represented by Yerbol Absalyamov, Executive Director; Ulzhan Alibek, External Affairs Manager; Dr. Ainur Zhaikhan, Postdoctoral Researcher; Askat Kuzdeuov, Lead Data Scientist; Vladimir Albrekht, Data Scientist; and Gourav Moger, Postdoctoral Researcher. PTIT participants included Dr. Tran Tien Cong, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence; Dr. Vu Hoai Nam, Head of Applied AI at the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence; and Ms. Huong Do Thanh, International Projects and Program Manager at the Center for International Education.
During the meeting, researchers from ISSAI presented their work in human-centered artificial intelligence, generative AI for low-resource languages, robotics, reinforcement learning, and AI-driven virtual environments. The presentations highlighted the institute’s efforts to develop innovative technologies while advancing research with practical applications in society and industry.
Representatives from PTIT showcased their research and development activities in artificial intelligence, including human activity recognition, AI-assisted education, accessibility technologies for people with disabilities, and the application of AI to cultural heritage and digital content. Their presentations demonstrated how advanced technologies can be used to address societal challenges and support digital transformation.
The meeting concluded with a discussion on potential avenues for future collaboration, including joint research projects, and knowledge-sharing initiatives in artificial intelligence and robotics. Both institutions expressed interest in strengthening ties and exploring opportunities to combine their expertise in addressing real-world challenges through innovative technologies.
