ISSAI Welcomes SKO Hub Representatives

On May 15, 2026, the Institute of Smart Systems and Artificial Intelligence (ISSAI) at Nazarbayev University welcomed representatives of SKO Hub during their working visit to Astana.

SKO Hub, a regional innovation and entrepreneurship hub in the North Kazakhstan Region focused on supporting startups, digital transformation, and technological development, was represented by Nurgul Bulatova, Head of SKO Hub, and Milan Alkeshev, Regional Manager. The ISSAI delegation included Amina Baikenova, Deputy Director of Product and External Affairs, and Ulzhan Alibek, External Affairs Manager.

During the visit, Amina Baikenova delivered a presentation on ISSAI’s key AI products, including ISSAI Playground and Qolda, as well as the institute’s research projects and educational initiatives. The presentation highlighted ISSAI’s role in shaping the artificial intelligence ecosystem in Kazakhstan, contributing to the development of local AI infrastructure, and advancing the Kazakh language in AI systems.

The visit also included discussions on opportunities for regional cooperation, innovation development, and the expansion of AI education initiatives across Kazakhstan.

The meeting concluded with a tour of the Advanced Robotics and Mechatronics Systems Laboratory (ARMS), where representatives of SKO Hub were introduced to the laboratory’s ongoing research projects and technological developments.

The visit marked an important step toward strengthening regional collaboration and fostering partnerships aimed at advancing artificial intelligence innovation and education in Kazakhstan.
