On July 16, 2024 students from Tsinghua University visited the Institute of Smart Systems and Artificial Intelligence (ISSAI). This visit was opened with a general presentation about the Institute.
Data scientist Aknur Karabay talked about the ISSAI’s research projects and recent developments. Aknur highlighted projects for Kazakh language, including Tilmash, Soyle, KazakhTTS and others. Senior data scientist Dr. Zhanat Makhataeva shared her experience on creating Umay human prototype, and explained the process of creating such avatars as Umay. She emphasized potential opportunities of using digital assistants for education, and how it can be developed.
At the end of this visit students asked additional questions about Umay and other ISSAI projects. They were highly interested in opportunities for collaboration with ISSAI. Students thanked Aknur Karabay and Dr. Zhanat Makhataeva for the interesting presentation and warm hospitality.
