On October 7, 2024, a Member of the Committee on Ecology and Nature Management of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan and popular journalist Sergey Ponomarev visited the Advanced Robotics and Mechatronics Laboratory (ARMS) at the Institute of Smart Systems and Artificial Intelligence (ISSAI).
The visit began with a presentation by postdoctoral researcher Dr. Azamat Yeshmukhametov. He showcased his research project on tensegrity robots, explaining their structure, key features, benefits, and potential applications in industry and manufacturing. Dr. Azamat also shared details about a collaborative project on innovative sensor technologies, developed with Professor Gulnur Kalimuldina and the Nanomaterials Laboratory at Nazarbayev University. Prof. Kalimuldina developed a TENG sensor, which was used to create smart insoles. Dr. Azamat Yeshmukhametov and PhD student Aisulu Tileukulova developed a new Stewart platform architecture. These two products will be combined to create a solution aimed at improving the diagnosis and rehabilitation of children with autism and other motor disorders.
During the visit, ISSAI Executive Director Yerbol Absalyamov presented the Institute’s recent projects and developments. He highlighted ISSAI’s contribution to the development of the Kazakh language and showcased Umay, Tilmash, and other projects.
Mr. Ponomarev was highly interested in ISSAI’s progress and scientific achievements. He thanked the ISSAI team and wished them success.
