Representatives of the Korean Embassy in Kazakhstan visited ISSAI

On January 27, 2025, a delegation from the Korean Embassy, including Mr. Kyo Young Gu, First Secretary and Head of Economic Affairs, Ms. Zhanna Seitova, Expert in Economic Affairs, and Ms. Galiya Nurkenova, Senior Expert in Political Affairs, visited the Institute of Smart Systems and Artificial Intelligence (ISSAI). 

The visit commenced with a welcome speech by ISSAI Founding Director, Prof. Atakan Varol, who introduced members of the Institute, including ISSAI Executive Director Yerbol Absalyamov, ISSAI Deputy Director of External Affairs and  Product, Senior Data scientist Madina Abdrakhmanova, Government Relations Manager Alaidar Amirseiit, and Data scientist Rakhat Meiramov. 

Ms. Madina Abdrakhmanova gave a presentation on ISSAI’s key research areas and projects. She emphasized ISSAI’s pivotal role in advancing AI in Kazakhstan, particularly in speech and natural language processing technologies for the Kazakh language. Additionally, she highlighted significant achievements in computer vision, augmented reality, virtual reality, and other related fields.  Among the projects presented was ISSAI’s first commercial AI product, the Soyle App, a multifunctional application for speech recognition, voice synthesis, and text and speech translation capabilities in four languages: Kazakh, Russian, English, and Turkish.

During the visit, Ms. Abdrakhmanova also demonstrated the Oylan model, ISSAI’s generative AI model capable of processing both images and text.

The distinguished guests expressed their high interest in ISSAI’s projects. They shared suggestions for potential areas of collaboration and discussed opportunities for future partnerships. The visit concluded with an engaging and productive dialogue, laying the foundation for potential joint initiatives.
