On September 30, 2025, the Institute of Smart Systems and Artificial Intelligence (ISSAI) at Nazarbayev University welcomed a delegation from Huawei Kazakhstan for a strategic discussion on advancing artificial intelligence and digital innovation in Kazakhstan.
The Huawei delegation was led by Lin Jiancheng, Director of State Business, and included Liu Yuhua, Director of Public Business Solutions, Lin Tingyu, Healthcare Representative, Batyrkhan Abdreshev, Solution Specialist, Liu Denghua, Director of the Data Center Solutions Department, and Wang Boyue, Cloud Business Director. From ISSAI, the discussions were joined by Founding Director Dr. Huseyin Atakan Varol, Executive Director Yerbol Absalyamov, and Government Relations Manager Alaidar Amirseiit.
During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on opportunities for collaboration in AI research and data infrastructure. Both ISSAI and Huawei emphasized the importance of developing localized AI solutions and fostering partnerships that strengthen Kazakhstan’s digital ecosystem. This visit underscores ISSAI’s role as a leading platform for collaboration between academia, industry, and global technology companies in building sovereign and innovative AI capabilities for the region.
