On March 6, a delegation of KazMinerals company, including technical director Mr. Johan Barnard, HR director Mr. Paul Gahagan, and Ms. Alfiya Gabaidullina project director of Cognos TM1 and Cognos BI implementation, visited Nazarbayev University.
Part of the visit was to the laboratories of the Institute of Smart Systems and Artificial Intelligence (ISSAI). This visit was opened by postdoctoral researcher Azamat Yeshmukhametov’s presentation of the latest innovations in the use of artificial intelligence for robotics. Postdoctoral researcher Zhanat Makhataeva shared her research work on a project involving augmented reality and AI with a focus on external object representation and the advancement of AR-assisted technology to aid people with memory impairments, such as Alzheimer’s disease. Then postdoctoral researcher Tolegen Akmetov demonstrated an AR solution for industrial safety. This demonstration attracted high interest from KazMinerals representatives.
Also during the visit, senior administrative coordinator Gibrat Kurmanov introduced distinguished guests to the Institute’s research projects for the Kazakh language.
