On 8th of December, Dr. Andrey Sakryukin, a lead data scientist at Grab in Singapore, gave an invited lecture on reinforcement learning (RL) to the Nazarbayev University research community.
After explaining the basics of reinforcement learning, Dr. Sakryukin delved into the different applications of RL particularly focusing on his work, dynamic pricing. Andrey concluded his talk by giving career advice to NU students. After his talk, Sakryukin answered the questions of the audience for a long time. Despite that it’s almost vacation time and different activities at NU around 30 students and researchers attended this guest lecture.
After finishing the Robotics Engineering Program at Nazarbayev University in 2016, Dr. Sakryukin conducted his doctoral studies in AI at the prestigious National University of Singapore (2020). Afterward, he worked in several top-notch AI and data science companies including Ubisoft, Alibaba, and Carousel before joining the Dynamic Pricing Group of Grab as a Lead Data Scientist.
